New Plane – More quality family time?
London – 3rd March 2004. There are many reasons to own an aircraft, and the advantages are well documented. But to have more time with the family? This is the sentiment expressed by Andreas Panayiotou, Group Chairman with Ability Developments, as he takes delivery of a new state of the art Citation Excel.
Andreas is as busy as most successful company bosses, with a
large property company in the UK, and shipping interests in Italy. But he
insists on spending as much time with his young family as possible and has
chosen to have the management of the aircraft outsourced. ‘Sure with
the aircraft handled by London Executive Aviation I get a considerable return
as well as all the obvious benefits,
but in these days of hectic deadlines I need to balance the demands of business
with my desire to spend as much time with my family as possible’. ‘I
will happily take them with me and combine business with a weekend away, or
as is usually the case, use the aircraft to make sure that I get home. It
is this element that I regard as most important’.
He explains that he now finds airline travel far more restrictive than before, albeit due to the necessary security precautions now in place which inevitably cause regular delays. ‘Unfortunately, I’m no longer comfortable travelling with my family under the current volatile climate’…
‘We are finding that there is a definite shift in emphasis
in reasons to own’ says LEA MD George Galanopoulos. ‘Andreas is
a case in point, and what with the generous tax benefits available I expect
more people will realise that this will be a very attractive option’.
