LEA spreads its wings with new Chrysalis contract

London Executive Aviation announces that it has secured a new contract with Chrysalis Radio to supply an aircraft for a new airborne traffic reporting service spanning the group’s three London radio stations – Heart 106.2 , LBC 97.3 FM and sister station LBC News 1152AM.

Commencing 1st September, ‘The Sky Patrol’ - using an LEA Seneca aircraft - will be ‘spying’ on the traffic hot spots every Monday to Friday from 7am to 9am. Travel broadcaster Georgina Argyrou will be giving listeners the very latest information on traffic troubles from 1000 feet above London’s road network.

Jonathan Richards, Editorial Director for Heart 106.2 and LBC says: ‘We see the arrival of ‘The Sky Patrol’ as an essential part of our breakfast programming, giving our listeners a real head start as they attempt to beat the jams and get to work’

This contract sees a renewal of the relationship between LEA and LBC in particular, as during the early nineties the company provided a similar service. Now that LBC News 1152AM and LBC 97.3FM have been acquired by Chrysalis, shared services with Heart 106.2 will create a viable and valuable resource for listeners of both stations. Jonathan continues ‘In addition to the daily travel news service, we hope to work with LEA in the future to provide airbourne coverage of major news events’
